Apparently the massive lack of success the first time doesn't scare them from trying again...

 

The Incredible Hulk will return to the roots of the long-running comic series, combining a well-developed character storyline with incredible action and fun. Zak Penn, who previously collaborated with Marvel on X2 and this summer's smash hit X-Men: The Last Stand, is writing the script. The project is being produced by Avi Arad, Kevin Feige and Gale Ann Hurd and will be executive produced by Michael Helfant and Ari Arad. Marvel Studios will begin casting immediately. No release date has been set.

and "The Last Stand" a smash hit? hardly. It was a snoozer.

It had the second best opening of this summer. It was a very successful movie, financially.

but nowhere near as good as the first one. It just felt hollow.

I watched the first Hulk and I cant believe they are entertaining the idea of another one. They did make Troll 2 though....

See, this right here is what is wrong with the movies nowadays. The first wasn't great, and certainly didn't deserve a sequel. Nevertheless, movie production companies are stuck in the "let's do it again, but we'll just throw in this new twist this time". Come on. And they wonder why people aren't going to the movies as much as they used to. Grrr.
