Basically this thread is about Rand.But couldnt bring this in other available threads

"Be not afraid of greatness: some men are born great, some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon them." - William Shakespeare.

Well we can agree that Rand fall into the category mainly but some can argue 1st option being correct for him.maybe its a combination of both.

"The greatest man is he who chooses the right with the most invincible resolution; who resists the sorest temptation from within and without; who bears the heaviest burdens cheerfully; who is calmest in storms, and most fearless under menaces and frowns; whose reliance on truth, on virtue, and on God is most unfaltering." - Seneca the Younger

a)he who chooses the right with the most invincible resolution;

It took some time for him to acknowledge what he is and he should do...But he did take the right path never looking back.10 /10 here

b) who resists the sorest temptation from within and without;

As far as i can think he is never able to fully(not saying he cant totally .just not enough) control his temptation (like bonding 3 lovers..infact having 3 lovers knowing he gonna die),and more importantly not killing women even its important.so 5/10 here

c) who bears the heaviest burdens cheerfully;

The more i think about it i am more inclined to he not doing his job cheerfully.Yes he is DOING what should be done but how cheerful is he about it?i leave you guys to decide.

knowing destiny leading you to madness,betrayal,death makes Rand what he is.So can we expect him to be cheerful about it?I cant decide lol

-/10 here

d)who is calmest in storms, and most fearless under menaces and frowns;

well here can be a lot of argument about how calm rand is in "storms".

For me he is doing good job considering he has to fight LTT sometimes for POWER when his enemies are in front of him

most fearless under menaces and frowns

i cant think of anything about this.

e)whose reliance on truth, on virtue, and on God is most unfaltering.

Rand and reliance -a big question.

of-course considering his situation past 2years he maybe right

One thing he is truly reliant is on his prophecised death. 10/10

IMO he should get rid of this damn-est place for him as soon as his job is done and go have a cup of coffee with the creator. 8)
