Why I think Gawayn is a dead man walking

Featured Replies

I cannot recall even one honest conversation between any two characters in all 11 volumes of the series.
Perhaps another re-read is in order.

There have been plenty of honest conversations. But i still think that it is stupid that she did not tell him.

The impression I always got was that Egwene did try to convince Gawyn that Rand didn't kill Morgase, but he refused to believe because she couldn't offer 'proof'. Egwene was seriously unwell for weeks after Lanfear thrashed her, so her memories of the aftermath aren't likely in the best shape, and she never did go to Caemlyn herself.

At first I was surprised she didn't tell Gawyn where Elayne was, but I can't say he'd have a happy reunion with the group in Salidar. Heck, Rand would likely have received a warmer reception there.

Here we go: Gawyn is a wilder, but nobody realizes it because he's barely as strong as his mother. Still, he manages to touch Saidin (if not actually weave anything) when using the 'oneness' concentration technique for swordplay, and it's the taint madness that's pushing him over the edge.
