Any motorsport fans here?

Me, I follow rallying and F1.

I live in NZ so I don't get a local F1 race, but I do go to the round of the WRC. Recently I've also been going to see the APRC.

My favourite memory so far was being on the Whaanga Coast stage watching the battle between Sebastien Loeb and Marcus Gronholm in 2007, which Marcus won in the end by .3 s. Loeb came around the hairpin at the junction so fast that he slid into the bank on the outside, bounced off and kept going. Maybe that's where he lost the time?

Incidentally, I think it's fantastic that Streetview drove the Whaanga Coast stage. Looking through it, it's very narrow and twisty.

Anyway, who's going to win the WRC this year? Loeb or Hirvonen? What about F1 - will Button manage it? That company in the UK that paid bets on Button early will have been on tenterhooks.

Well, we did. I never went, though, since it was too far away and I'm not a fan of the circuit.

Whereabouts are you? Do you get an F1 race?

I'm in South Africa, and no we don't  >:(

Though there's talk about building a new circuit quite near where I live and applying for a spot.

As for Button: I think he'll scrape through, and kudos to him. Pity it's not Kimi, though  :'(

I hope Kimi gets into rallying.  :) I saw Rossi in 2006 when he tried out Rally NZ and that was neat.

I think Alonso is going to find that the Ferrari is a rather difficult car to drive  :P

Sheesh ... the Quallies are not going too well, are they? Should just give the drivers snorkels and paddles  ::)

Haha - the race and qualies in Brazil are shown live here, but that means they're on at something like 4 am. I'm performing gymnastics with my sleeping arrangements to watch the race.

Any Indy Car fans out there... that's the only motor sport that I follow... I you can even call It following.

Yes, especially for a dry race. It's rare to have so much overtaking on a dry track. Interlagos rules  :D
