Hey Everyone,

Figured I'd offer to have Visar teach a class on something to help with Trainee WS requirements.  In addition to doing basic fitness/basic movements and related classes, I can teach some cool stuff about the following three weapons:

longsword: basic principles of the weapon (could be applied to single (katana-ish) or double edged).  Could either count for Primary/Ssecondary/Tertiary weapons training or might possibly double as a variation of basic movements applied to one weapon (if I include some footwork and explain the different strikes).

staff/spear/pole-weapons: using the staff as a tool to learn how to use other pole-weapons, teaching fundamentals like gripping, distance and timing, defenses and counters, how to fight a swordsman, etc.  Could count for P/S/T weapons training.

unarmed defense against the dagger OR dagger against the dagger: Starting with a few worst-case-scenario knife defense techniques (which can be a class or two on their own), and then possibly branching off to various strategies of how to deal with the deadly knife or dagger in close combat or duel.  Can count for P/S/T weapons training.

And if there's another WS requirement you'd like to fulfill, or just want to rp with an idea of your own, feel free to give your ideas.  I'm free to help whoever is interested with their character's training experience.

That's funny. I was just about to PM you to suggest your character taught ol' Kit a class. How would taking Kit through Swordsmanship 101 be?

Sure, why not! I'll jump on board.

WS is currently 4. Will this take me to 5?

Sorry for the delay here! Almost forgot about my offer, my bad!

I'll ask if the class can count as basic movements (with the long sword, and Visar will argue why that can count as basic for other weapons), but it can certainly count as primary/secondary/tertiary weapon training for any sword that can be used in two hands (single or double edged) if that is one of the weapons your character is choosing, or the principles can be adapted with some variation to a similar weapon, such as a single handed sword or a staff or polearm of some sort.

Anyway, I'll scrap together a thread, and anyone who is interested in participating in the training thread can join within a week or a couple rounds of posts or so before their character is considered "late" (and there will be IC consequences for the character if they either show up late or horse around).

Look to see some trainees there, and thank you for being patient I forget about these things sometimes X_X
