Which reminds me - I want to host all the pictures, graphics, etc we use at the WT Div on one account somewhere, so they don't get lost if someone leaves or something crashes.

 

Jade suggested at the WT site, I think? I've also thought of Photobucket, or making a page for us at Facebook.

 

uhm ... sorry to hijack your thread, Taei, but you're also a boffin on this stuff so I thought I'd throw the idea at you  ;D

I'd say use a Photobucket account. I know we've had bandwidth issues at DM before and it might be easier to add to. Also, Facebook isn't good for picture hosting.

I don't really approve of Photobucket ... unless we're putting up a pro account because with so many of us around posting all over the place, we're probably going to exceed bandwith =.=

You can take the pictures that are put up there that you want to use and put them on your own account. Then you won't have to worry about a bandwidth issue. Would mainly be a central place to keep them.

I make graphics in a few LJ communities, including snaggable icons. They're all hosted on my photobucket for anyone to use, just so they're always there. Everyone is supposed to upload it to their own preferred host. I usually have a disclaimer that warns agains hotlinking, something about eating their souls if I discover it... ;D

That's what I'm wanting. And this is just for WT Div stuff, not personal stuff. Though I suppose one could make sub-folders for that? Anyway, I've lost some Red things, since they were hosted on other people's personal accounts. This is why I would like all WT Div things hosted in one neutral place.

I'll post the login info on the staff board. :) No hotlinking (using the images directly from this site), if you want to use them upload them to your own account, please. If it becomes a problem I will disable the public links so that you have to ask to have them sent to you. Hopefully it won't be a problem though. :)

 

Have all the pictures from the old tag site put up there. If you have any other sets of images you want uploaded for general use let me or another staff memeber know. :)
