Ski Resorts!

Featured Replies

Hey guys, just a general discussion about skiing, ski resorts, and the best places to go for skiing holidays!

I love to ski, and our family will try to go skiing once a year. Has anyone been to any fantastic ski resorts?

My favourite 3 would have to be:

1. Whistler/blackcomb - Long runs, lifts close to hotels, great snow, ski in ski out in a few resorts...really good.

2. Falls Creek - Probably the best skiing in Australia. The runs aren't so long, but there are some great black runs, and a real sense of community around the resort.

3 Perisher - Australia's biggest resort, with long runs, and our hotel was 5 m from the main lift. Snow can be a bit dodgy though, and in school holidays it can be very crowded.

Well, what are your favourite resorts? do you ski or board? This is just a thread to discuss the best places to go skiing in the world!

I don't ski, and don't plan ever to! lol! I saw too many students at my school come back with various bandages and loads of crutches! Too dangerous for my liking!

I have yet to go skiing, but my sister went skiing somewhere in Colorado, and she came back without any bandages or crutches...although a cousin of mine was taken to the emergency room for I think dislocating her knee...

I've skied in Colorado, North Carolina, and West Virginia.

I'd love to hit up Vermont or New Hampshire in Northern America.  But I would really love to go skiing in the Swiss Alps or Germany.  Hopefully I'll get a chance when I study abroad in 2 semesters.

Krak - Where are you studying abroad? I'm going to be in Seville Spain during Spring 2011 (which would be 2 semesters away)!!
