Wedding music!

Featured Replies

A curious thought, but as I was now listening to a Mozart record with Requiem, and also his Betracht Dies Hertz and Laudate Dominum, it struck me, as it usually does when I hear it, that if I should get married (not that I can foresee it in the immediate future), that is what I would like to hear on the altar (or whatever it should be). Mozart's Laudate Dominum KV339 must be one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard.

The Latin lyrics are translated:

O praise the Lord all ye nations:

praise him, all ye people.

For his merciful kindness is great toward us:

and the truth of the Lord endureth for ever.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,

and to the Holy Spirit:

as it was in the beginning,

is now, and ever shall be,

world without end. Amen.

So this is a thread where people can think on what they would like to hear at their weddings, or if they are married, recount what they did hear.  :D
