question on the void.

Featured Replies

Can anyone explain the void in more detail or a link to a thread if there already was one on it? As in if its based on a real world technique thats in existence>?

Well, while I haven't seen a discussion on it in here, there may be one in the Discussion and Debats thread.

I think of it as a strong form of meditation that people can perfect.  It sounds like it, and I'm sure with practice it can be achieved.

Really the only trick I want to learn from WoT, if it is real, is the ignoring heat and cold, that would be wonderful, especially cold as it is winter here now.

I always thought that the void and the trick to avoid the heat were always somewhat related. In the new spring, i dont remember who says it but the aes sedai say that the trick to avoid the temperatures is a technique where one controls breathing - slow breath in, hold for a few secs, slow breath out, hold for a few secs with exactly the same intervals between breaths and consistent breathing. Its explained that the body then becomes detached from the surroundings or some such. Im unable to recollect the exact wordings.

maybe this is one part of achieving the void, after which other techniques such as feeding your emotions to the flame etc. need to be done before you enter the state of void.

Its all so fascinating I wanted to know what you guys thought of it.
