If the Balefire hit the block of Cuendillar only, you wouldn't die.

Now, if you were weaving the block of iron to become Cuendillar, but didn't finish in time, that is another story.

The cuendillar would stop the balefire. It doesn't go through it.

One theory I have about the other way to destroy cuendillar is to create a gateway and put the piece of cuedillar inbetween it, I would assume it would cut it in half because gateways deal with distortion in the pattern and not like other things that work with the pattern

Or possibly it would block the closing, like the weave Rand used in tFoH.

I think it would block it...

 

Imagine, like people use wooden sticks to hold their windows open, people have their Cuendillar bars to hold open gateways. lol

 

Slicing it in half is not necessarily detroying it though.

 

well u would really have to wedge it in there.  Maybe thats how they made guns.  Make a cuendillar bullet, and put it in a tiny gateway.  let the gateway shut and shoot the cuendillar out of the gateway, when it snaps shut with enormous force.

It could block it open, it was just an idea that popped into my head. I considered the idea that it would block it open but its kind of up in the air since we don't have enough evidence to prove it either way. In any case even if you don't consider being cut in half broken, think what would happen if the seals were at full strength. Would cut in half seals still work? In any case if a cuendillar object is cut in half it would probably cease to perform whatever function it was designed to do. Who knows maybe this idea will be as controversial as my last one was.

ed2funy, are u sure that he used TP balefire to destroy it, I thought that Rand used enormous spears of the TP, and then Balefired Semy to make sure that the DO couldent get her soul, but it is possible that the DO could catch her soul, because Rand was using the TP and the DO may have unknown power over it.

I just had an awesome idea while reading some of NS...

 

Accepted know pretty much most of the fighting weaves that AS know (i.e. fireballs). We know this because Moiraine already knows how to do it in the test.

 

Anyways, with the LB looming...and new weaves being discovered and AS starting to prepare for the LB, they need a practice area.

 

Solution: A One room building (doesn't have to be big, could just be 3 walls standing together) made out of Cuendillar!

Throw your fireballs at it. Throw your lightnings!

 

Throw whatever you want at it!...

postulate: what would have happened if egwene had been BF'd directly following her playing with the harbor chains?

There would never have been a cuendillar chain, therefore nothing was destroying the cuendillar.

but once cuendillar is made it cannot be destroyed. would in essence, egwene gets capped by BF does the cuendillar cease to be as well, as in erasing a previous action she'd taken? I just think once cuendillar is made, that's it, it's ther to stay. Irregardless if the maker who just made it gets BF'd. I mean we're talking about a substance that cannot be destroyed by balefire from the one power it's self.

BUT it's not being destroyed! especially considering it never existed!
