Sherlock Holmes - Movie

Featured Replies

I am going tomorrow with a friend to see this movie and I have read mixed opinions about it.

Pretty much everyone says that the movie is not based on the novels.. personally I haven't read them so I really don't mind.

Have you seen it?

Did you like it?

The reviews said that he is portrayed in the wrong way. I havnt read the books so I dint mind it, but I did expect a more subtle detective thriller. Too many action sequences for a doctor/detective but nevertheless a nice movie.

I have seen the movie; read the novels long before that. And it really has no resemblance to the book at all. They turned a cerebral, detective story into a CGI action film. It is because of that, I could not say it was a good movie; you cannot base something off of a popular classic and then make it not even bear a shred of likeness to it.

I suppose no one would have wanted to see it if they had not made it more "exciting", though; people seem to love blast-the-mind action more than anything nowadays.
