Hi, only just registered after lurking for what seems like an age in the shadows as a guest...

first started reading the WoT around 6 years ago, and even though my life has changed drastically in that time I've made sure the series has been re-read on average twice a year...always something new to find eh?

Apart from Jordan, I also like to read books by authors like Douglas Adams, Robert Rankin, David Gemmell, Tolkien, Mitch Albom, Tom Holt etc

Welcome to the forums, browse, lurk, enjoy! :D

Also.. watch out for those stabbing crazys...

All of a sudden, I think I'm leaking red stuff, any ideas what to do about that?

Yeah that's a good Tom Holt one, poor poor Malcolm haha, but check out "You don't have to be evil to work here but it helps"

I think I've read that one. Vaguely remember some demon wanting to be good or something or am I way off the mark. His books always kinda remind me of a less funny Terry Pratchett. Its hard to get many humorous writers that are genuinely funny and with a decent story.

Kind of, someone sells his soul to ensure his company's success but the lawyers in charge of the contract start interefering. I'd say he wasn't as funny as Pratchett but tells a better story, Pratchett is also more consistent while Holts books go from amazing to boring.

Pretty much sumed up my feelings there with your last statement Manel. The last Holt book I read was utter nothingness and has turned me off him for like the past year or more. Did you read the new hitchiker book thats not by Adams? Also Neil Gaimen is pretty great, not too many books though. Anasii's Boys and American Gods both pretty funny.

Still haven't read neil gaimmon, though I've heard good things. If you're after humourous books full of myths or sci fi though, I do recomend Robert rankin, especially the Armageddon Trilogy and the Brentford Trilogy.

Haha as soon as I finish my latest WoT reread I think I'll treat myself to it

was it Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the Apocolypse? Not one of his best admittedly

A bit late, but welcome to DM! I hope you are enjoying your time at the site! :)
