6 year old birthday party.

So Jackie turns 6 on Feb 29th or March 1st, whichever one you want to pick.

She wants to have a party with all her school mates.

I need ideas.

She tells me that one little boy in her class said he will not come if it is a girl party, so now she wants a boy party, but she cannot tell me what a boy party is. **Sigh**

I told her to do what she wants and not what that little boy wants. Silly boys. Everyone knows they have cooties anyway.  ::)

What is a good theme for a 6 year old? I told her she would have to wait till mid-March so that we could get a good day and have it outside.

Help guys! I need ideas!

Hmmm well there are a ton of themes, that work for boys and girls etc. I would check the dollar store believe it or not, they usually have 10 or so different themes and cheaper by alot. As for games and such, there are a ton of them. Hot Potato, pinata, tag, red rover, put cotton balls in a bowl, have a second bowl, a blindfold, and a spoon. The one who gets the most cotton balls in the bowl wins. There's also freeze dance where you stop the music the one still moving goes out until it gets down to one person. Also Simon Says and many other games.

What kinds of things does she watch on TV? I know Disney has a whole Party set up for their PlayHouse Disney stuff (that you can download and print, I might add!). Check it out, if you're interested: http://tv.disney.go.com/playhouse/grown-ups/celebrationcenter/index.html

There's even a Mickey Mouse Shamrock Day... perhaps you could do a whole St. Patty's Day thing with her birthday, if you're already waiting 'til the middle of the month?

*clears her throat*

Ideas from the web using iCarly as your central theme:

http://ezinearticles.com/?ICarly-Birthday-Party-Ideas&id=2473653 <-- this one has a lot of ideas and most of them reference the show in some way without buying logo-themed things. This might help if she's interested in asking boys to come...

Thanks Lor! I was so busy on homework that I did not get to look any of it up.

It looks like there is some good ideas in there. I think I will make spaghetti tacos to eat.

*laughs* sounds like...

ok, I can't say that without lightening striking me.

I'll just say "better you than me" and leave it there. ;) Glad I could help!

You could always go the easy route, and do ChuckECheese, or whatever equivalent is in your area.  If you do the afternnon, and don't purchase dinner for the guests it is a bit cheaper.

dunno if it would work for girls too, but in one of my parties, we took cardboard boxes with holes cut in the middle, and each of us boys decorated them as cars. Then we "put them on" and had races outside. Very fun and cheap, though don't know how it would go over with girls as I had none there :/
