What can I say, I'm a natural. :D

Talmanes, they were created not to counter, but to include those older religions so they peope who haven't "converted" or been "converted" would feel more at home during those timeframes.

Not really I'd say more of countering. It seems to be the best word. Including older religions was never the goal.

The whole goal of Christianity for example was to create a one world religion, which means they had to modify their existing doctrine and rules to fit what would work best with the old pagan beliefs.

Key point is Christmas, it was never celebrated till around 1100(in its modern injunction), when Christianity came to the UK and the Celtics were celebrating their winter solitice, prior to that, it revolved around the Hebrew Holiday. :P

It could also be related back to Saturnila with the Romans.
