Bleh... my couch's recliner ate my power cord, so I didn't have a computer for a couple days after I used up my battery! I first knew something was up when I heard a crackle, looked at the cord, and little blue lightning bolts were streaking across the exposed wire... unfortunately the only universal powercord that actually charges a dell battery (stupid dell makes their difficult on purpose so you have to buy their own) cost $99... grr!

ouch....that bites! I'd be so lost without my computer! I was beginning to wonder where you were at though. Glad to know everything's okay and that you didn't get electrocuted by the power cord or anything ;)

yeah, it was kind of scary when I held it in my hands and saw the electricity! I had to set it on the floor to get behind the couch to the plug!

 

More good news is the outrageously expensive replacement IS retractable, so no chance of a repeat!

Wow...see, for 99 dollars, I would have rewired the original.  :-\

I can't stop laughing at this mental image I have of a reclining couch eating up a power adapter!

A retractable one? Cool! lol

 

I can see how that can happen though. My brother constantly uses mom's laptop while reclining on the couch and...we must have one hefty power cord because it's gotten stuck in that recliner soooo many times.....

Mine had too a couple times... but this time, not so lucky :(

 

I could have gotten it rewired, but it was Saturday and I had homework due monday, and at that point I was going to be working Sunday... so no time, and nobody open who had what I needed

Not even a quickie splice job?  bummer.  :-\
