National Lampoon's Vacation - Reboot

I won't be surprised if this is less successful that Vegas Vacation or Christmas Vacation 2: Eddie's Island Adventure

Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley have been hired by New Line Cinema to pen a script that will essentially reboot the "Vacation" (aka. "National Lampoon's Vacation") franchise reports Variety.

Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo would reprise their roles as Clark and Ellen Griswold in a film said to follow a darker and more interesting "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" style tone than the cruder antics of the various sequels.

The main focus would be on the pair's son, a now adult Rusty Griswold, who sets out on a road trip with his wife and kids to the soon to be demolished Wally World. Clark and Ellen will only be small supporting roles apparently.

"Wedding Crashers" helmer David Dobkin will produce.

Okay Hollywood, Heres a simple test to tell if a movie should be reboot or not.

Take 10 people, put them into a room.

Tell them they'll get a bonus if they don't lie to you, and they'll be fired if they lie.

Pitch the Idea

Then ask them, Is it a good idea, or a shitty Idea.

Fire your yes-men Hollywood!
