My name is Mametsuki, AKA "Badgergirl" although I go by many names in many places, but you'll get to recognise my long diversions from the topic in hand.

I'm half way through the very first WOT book,(Chapter 19, actually) and so far I get the feeling I'm going to be a proper fan!

One of my good friends has been on Wotmania for years and years, and I've just realised that's another WOT forum. She usually likes books I like, so I feel good vibes about Wheel of Time!

My favourite authours are Tolkein, Pratchett, Emily Bronte and Phil Rickman, who writes Supernatural mysteries set in England, my home country.

My hobbies are reading, tap-dancing, roleplaying and I am also learning to knit. (I need a new bathing suit, I found a pattern and thought "What they hey?"....just kidding, I'm gonna knit chain mail!)

I came here in search of a pronunciation guide. Robert Jordan seemed to like setting his readers a challenge with everyone's names didn't he?

I understand accents vary the way people say names, but can I hazzard a guess that most of us have struggled with how to say "Aes Sedai" and "Nynaeve" at one point!

Even though I know of names like Aethelread from English history, I'm not sure how the AE sound works in Jordan's writing. Most of the names have a few possible answers.

I'd be grateful if someone could direct me to a good thread on the subject!

Cheers.

Mametsuki! xx
