Please, call me Quisalas.  Or Quis. :)  QS sounds like an acronym for Quality Service or something, and I don't do a whole lot of serving.

I've seen a notify button... somewhere.  but I thought that was for email notification, not replies to your posts.

Well I didn't want to spell it all out, sorry Quisalas.  :)

Yeah, there's a thing at the bottom of every thread that says "Notify" and it will notify you in some way for all of the threads that you clicked "Notify" on.  ;D

Then you can call me Q.  The Reds on the WT Org do. :D  Light knows I wouldn't want to have to spell out Quisalas every time I talked to someone, and my figers have gotten very trained at typing the word over the past 15 years or so.

Alright Q, you can call me Bliggy or Blibby. Where'd Quisalas Selene come from? If that is a name in WoT then I haven't seen it, I got to book 5 and got confused because I didn't read it enough. So I just started over.

Oh, and I try to be a ladies man...but that doesn't always work out.  :-\

I chose the name before I even started reading WoT.  I joined here because Raeyn kept talking about the RP here and I'd been looking for a place to RP.  So I registered, bought the books and read them between February and May, and then started posting in June. 8144

Quisalas is from the Dragonlance books, it's the elvish word for Beloved.  Selene is a name I just like, and I thought if I was going to play here I should have a name that included some aspect of the RP name.  If I'd realized that the screen name had nothing to do with your character, I'd have just gone by Quisalas.  I'd used Selene in the past in writing and rp as a succubus character.  On here, she's my WT novice and sister to my Warders Yard Tower Guard.  The name Selene does show up in book 2, but I didn't know about her when I made my name. ;)

I've never read the Dragonlance books, are they that good? And...what exactly is RP?  :D

I like your name, so I think you picked a really good one.  :)

RP is just like interactive story writing.  You come up with a character, you have that character interact with other people, you build depth into the character, provide obstacles for them to overcome, all the stuff you do when writing a story solo - there's just other people who also have their own fleshed out characters writing with you.

For instance, Kynwric's Warder character taught my trainee character how to use a sword.  Specifically, how to do several of the fancy shmancy named sword forms and stances from the Wheel of Time books.  He also caught my trainee having a tryst with an older woman and set a penance for him to do. ;)

Some people roleplay versions of themselves, some people roleplay things they never could (or would) do in real life.  Nearly all people do a little bit of both.

Oh, and I really enjoyed the Dragonlance books when I was 10-16 or so years old.  These days, my attention span wans a little and I find the books a little too predictable and a little too trite and cliché.  They're enjoyable, but mostly for the nostalgia.  My husband feels the same way about Brian Jacques's Redwall books.
