I am firmly of the belief that not liking beer is the result of having been exposed to bad beer... bad beer suck balls. Good beer on the other hand... well, it is the nectar of the gods. Particularly if your gods are Norse.

I have tried some different kinds. Like the sayin goes don't knock it till you try it...

Of all the drinks I find that Beer

Is not one that I would hold dear

I've tried Whiskey, Tequila and Wine

But softer drinks will suit me fine.

I didn't say I never have it. It depends on what mood I'm in, which most of the time is the mood where I don't want any.

I'm a bit concerned I've grown allergic to liquor.  I had some rum and cranberry juice, which I'd had a gazillion times before.  It made my throat swell up and my face itch all over.  That was in October, and I haven't drank since.  I suppose I'll try it again at some point, to see if it was just the rum, or just the cranberry juice, or just the combination of the two - or if it's something I've developed against grain alcohol on the whole.  Beer doesn't trigger it, but I've never had more than a few mouthfuls of beer at a time.

I am constantly told that I don't like beer because I haven't tried good beer.  And yet, no matter how many "good beer" I am told to try, they all still taste like rancid, bubbly piss.  It's awful.  There have been a few beer I've tried that weren't as bad until the aftertaste, or were pretty bad but had no aftertaste, and both of those have their rank in better-than-crap-beer, but none of them are good and none of them are anything I would choose to drink of my own free will for fun.

Its probably the cranberry juice. But the principal behind beer is to drink until you can't taste it. I don't like it either so me and you have the same oppinion

I've yet to try a Shirley Temple, I'm not much into mixed drinks in general.  If I'm drinking to get drunk, it's hard liquor, usually on ice.  If I'm drinking to have a beverage, it's almost never alcoholic.

It probably has something to do with the fact that I never go into bars... the one time I've had a drink in a bar, it was a gin & tonic that my friend bought me and that was how I found out I hate gin.  :)

Also, my husband got up and went to the kitchen while we were watching a movie and when I paused it and asked him what he was doing, he said "I'm getting a drink, why?  You gonna go on the internet and complain about it?"

So I had to come online and complain about it, because it was such a ridiculously silly response.  :D  Yay for the spam thread!
