I voted for Ed cause I promised him that my first mafia vote would be for him.. And I haven't found any good suspicions to change it to yet.. I also think he doesn't deserve cookies..

To let you know Min he has had this LoA posted for a week or two around DM. That sentence though does seem scummy.

I agree that he seems suspicious, but completely disagree with a Day One reveal. With a game this big people can easily false claim. Pick almost any role and augment it... Well we will see, I have no idea how the dynamics for a game this big will work.

 

Him not voting doesn't seem scummy. If he was on a team they should have pressured him into voting so Lily doesn't strike him down :). I think he is new and tripping over himself. Though from that sentence I agree that he probably has some type of third party role. If people want to vote for him I'll join the bandwagon, but in the meantime I'm going to try and pressure someone else who is here with my vote. And the person next on the list with the most votes from Lily's previous count is...

Al Jenn, after looking at your argument, I am not sure that is going to help your case any. It seemed to me that it came across as very studied and "neutral". But after Tal's bandwagon picked up steam after defending You, and then you give a long list of why shouldn't vote for him, and almost seem to derail us from voting him make me wonder.

Generally first day reveals are bad news.  If the person has an important role, then you pretty much lock up your doctor/defender character, protecting them every night.  Then of course is the likelyhood that the reveal is a lie.  But, without a revealed Lie Detector, that's moot.

Okay, I didn't realize he had posted LoA's and all. I have been busy with the Aiel and trying to get end of the month stuff done, so didn't read much of the sign-up thread.

I do agree that day one reveals are a bad idea. I just think that with half the votes needed and going on LoA he pulled a good scum tactic of "don't vote for me I will be gone". That plays on people's sympathies and like I said you forget why you suspected him in the first place. Which I won't.

I don't like lynching someone when they can't defend themselves, but was curious at how many others never removed their votes. I said I would remove mine once I found someone I thought was scum. If you notice NO ONE ELSE has removed their votes on him. So, me looking scummy is one thing. But a bandwagon that people joined and them not removing their votes looks more scummy to me.

You all are right about the reveal it would be bad and hard to prove on day one. I will relent to that logic. Is Talmanes really that new of a player? I have seen him and played with him in a few games. So, not so new in my humble opinion to make a stupid slip like that. If he is scum he might not have read his friends QT board to see where he needed to vote either. He could also have a SK type role or something.

Oh, and just so you know I unglowed my name. I think it helps the mod when counting. I would have done that for anyone's name so you know not just cause it was mine. I have been trying to get people to do that when they quote someone. It is just easier imo for the mod. I will say he hasn't posted much, so that may be it.

I looked over MCS's post. He has been posting everywhere else if you look at his post history. He comes in and votes for Talmanes and it appears didn't bother to read what was going on. I find that harmful if you are a townie and makes me suspicious of him. Now I know that 21 pages is intimidating and he probably only looked at who had the most votes. This has been his only post so far as I could find.

Granted we started early and the threads are many. However, if I was going to vote for someone I would at least take the time to see what is going on. He was playing at Fiddlesticks after all. Yes, I checked his posting history as I mentioned above. I don't like it when people come in and place a vote without a reason. It just sounds fishy and scummy to me.

No, I am not keeping a spreadsheet or anything. Just going on gut here and telling it as I see it.

Talamanes for now is safe from my vote, however when he returns I will be asking him questions. Like I said and I will repeat it as some of you seem to not actually read what I say. I kept my vote on him until I found someone scummier. I didn't want to be without a vote with Lily's rule about pooling from the non-voters.

You all convinced me about the day one reveal. I would have been easy for him to false claim and save his hide and then we would be non the wiser unless someone else had his character. In a game like this you never know who Lily used either. I would bet they aren't what we would all think of either. I know mine is a bit obscure you might say. Not a main character.

Vote for me if you really think I am scum, but can you give a reason. I really hate the voting with no reason. I mean "joining the bandwagon" is at least a reason.

I say this to Lily all the time, why do I come across as scum when I am not? Okay, meta-gaming here for a moment-sorry, every time I am the healer I am targeted right away. I am not the healer in this game thank the Light. However, I don't know what it is that make me see like I am mafia or whatever when I am not. It is just one of those weird things I suppose.

Not back to our regularly scheduled game as I got on the boys about meta-gaming before. I at least wasn't using it as a reason to suspect someone in this game. That to me is just stupid. We all have new rolls in each game and even Lily has to be innocent once in a while. *giggles*

 

Oh, and this whole post isn't to throw suspicion off of me, but to point out that I am not the only one who is coming across scum. I suppose me asking for a day one reveal did seem scummy. I honestly didn't think of it at the time. I just remember another game when we lynched a bodyguard on day one and he didn't do a reveal. It has bugged me ever since then. I will admit with 16 votes needed we probably aren't going to agree on day one, but I was thinking of the trauma from that game when I said the stuff about the reveal. Honestly that was my reason.

Believe me or not the choice is yours. I would have probably voted for myself in hind sight too. It did seem odd in a game this large. So, do what you think is best. I won't take it personally.

I play by analyzing everything. And it was a "neutral" assessment. That one sentence was scummy, but I don't see any advantage in lynching someone who isn't here. We can't get any more information and he won't preform any actions. The best that could happen is we lynch him he turns up anti-town then you could come against me since he defended me. That is my opinion.

 

As for derailing the voting, I can't claim that. That would be Talya, Verbal, and I think one other who said a day one reveal isn't good and that they weren't going to vote for him due to his LoA among other things.

Talya - its the morning report song, sung by a young simba & Zazoo while walking the kingdom with Mufasa.  it was in the original film and the kid they have singing & talking for simba is way too high pitched to even be remotely anything like JTT's voice and they should have just left it out.

 

and yes, there was a Lion King 2.  it was about Simba's pride battling the reminates of Scars old pride and Simba & Nala's daughter Kara falling in love with Scars child Kovu. 

 

 

Min i understand your fears of lynching a useful character to the town via day 1 randomness, but honestly thats kinda the norm with day 1 anyways.  scum profits from the randomness and choatic nature in day 1 so it's very easy to manipulate events away from their team becuase peopel are less willing to work together and there is virtually no info at all.  however, i disagree with a day one reveal unless its absolutely vital, with only having 7 people on his lynch and him needing 16 i don't see it as a vital (but thats imo)
