Another thread got me to thinking about this. Has anyone read all these books? Did they get any better? I really enjoyed #1 and 2 I think. I had to TRY to finish #3 and when I bought #4, I just never could finish. Had a pretty cool concept going (The Dedicates and bloodsteel or whatever). I rarely just quit reading a series once started, but this didn't cut it for me.

I find it mediocre. It's really lighter reading for those who don't care to follow a really indepth series. I'd even be tempted to call it, based on language, a young adult through and through. It's one of those that starts with the parents and moves to the kids after the parents' jobs are done... but really all it does is make the original not seem as good.

 

I think Farland is trying to pick up the speed again, but... meh.

Yes, I would agree that it is a young adult series. It starts to pick back up and the main story arc ends in book five. I liked this series a lot, not one of my favorites, but it was good. I find that after book 5 that it gets... old. Like Alys said it moves more to the children and the main arc is no longer really there. I would say finish book five and quite.
