Gears of War

While it hasn't died on the vine like the "HALO" movie, the film adaptation of the "Gears of War" movie has been hobbled to some extent/

According to The Los Angeles Times, New Line and Warner Bros. Pictures have stopped development on the project and are scaling back the film's story and budget.

A source claims "the studio has now cut the budget, going from a film that would have cost more than $100 million to one that will cost a good chunk less than that. It's also reined in the story, turning it into a more simple, straight-ahead invasion story instead of a sprawling epic."

With the script by Chris Morgan ("Wanted") now out, a new writer is being sought. With the resulting delay, director Len Wiseman ("Live Free or Die Hard," "Underworld") will instead focus on the post-apocalyptic mystery "Nocturne" at 20th Century Fox.

When will Hollywood learn they can't make a good Video Game movie.  They don't pay any attention to the game's story and just focus on the action.
