MLB All-Star Game

Featured Replies

So the all star game is approaching and the rosters have been picked.  Any thoughts on bad selections or snubs?

Although, admittedly, Girardi was in a tough position with having to pick players from some pretty bad teams.

I think that its interesting that the San Diego Padre's have the best ERA as a staff in the NL, and I think all of Baseball and they have 0 pitchers on the All-Star team.

Also the biggest snub in the NL I think is Joey Votto.

I'll agree with the you AL snub of Youkilis.

Yeah I think Votto is a pretty big one.  Personally...i am of the opinion that only on very rare(And I mean RARE) occasions should a rookie even be considered for an All-Star game.

And I'm sure there is a bigger snub than Youkilis since the Sox have 4-5(?) players in already.

As far as worst picks.....the unfortunate part of requiring a rep from every team, is that you can get stuck with "the best of the worst"  sometimes.

Well the All-Star festivities are under way and David Ortiz has defeated Hanley Ramirez in the Home Run Derby.

  • 1 year later...

It was Dave Parker from the Pirates- 1979 I believe. Threw from right field to home on the fly.
