when the fight ends in TSR  it states Avendesora only had a broken branch and some leafs shaken off.However at the start of TFoH it says it is burnt.

No it was seen burning imediately after or during the battle with asmodean. We should see it again in Aviendahs Rhudien POV in ToM

It's actually a mistake. Early printings of the Shadow Rising cite the 'broken branch', newer ones have it burning, to make it fit with the Fires of Heaven. It still lives, however.

:o That is so funny I had just listened to episode 4.13: Juggling Multiple Viewpoints of Brandon Sanderson's Writing Excuses podcast about a hour before I read this post. At the end of each episode they give you a writing prompt to practice your technique. This episode's prompt was to write a multiple view point story line with the main POV from a TREE and the other PoV's from people as they pass the tree   ;D

Sounds like fun, I'll have to have a go!
