Nominate Your Best Keyboardists for the Band's Dream Band!!!

Featured Replies

The Band of the Red Hand concludes its quest of picking its Dream band. As a recap, our Dream Band currently consists of the following members:

Carlos Santana as the guitarist

Geddy Lee as the bass player

Within Temptation's Sharon den Adel as the Female Vocalist

Queen's Freddie Mercury as the Male Vocalist

The position of Drummer is still being decided. Click here to get involved!

Now our focus shifts to the world of keyboardists, which is the final position to fill in the Band's Dream Band. This thread allows you to nominate your keyboardists to go into the "It's A Knockout" contest to win the slot in the Band of the Red Hand's Dream Band. And below is what you need to do!

Between now and SUNDAY 15TH AUGUST 2010, nominate the keyboardists you want to see try and take that spot. Follow the simple proforma below to get a nomination in. Name your keyboardist, explain why you have nominated them, and provide a YouTube clip (or similar) of their skill.

Please Note: The final submission date falls after the close off for threads/posts to be transferred across in the move to DM 8. All posts that don't make it will be posted by me on the new boards.

You can nominate more than one keyboardist. Any nomination that is seconded, i.e. Krak suggests Keyboardist X and Corki agrees with the nomination, automatically qualifies for a place in the "It's A Knockout" contest. Otherwise, it will be done on a first come, first served basis. If there are any gaps at the end of the nomination period, I will fill in the gaps.

PLEASE NOTE: I am looking for a minimum of 8 nominations, and a maximum of 16.

If you have any questions, please post them in this thread.

I have to second Rick Wakeman, because of his sheer genius with the keyboard!

Only other person that is in the same league as Rick IMHO is:

Keyboardist's Name: Keith Emerson

Reason for Nomination: Just a pretty awesome keyboardist!

Keyboardist's Name: Ray Manzarek

Reason for Nomination: The Doors. He infused rock music with jazz and classical riffs on his Vox Continental and Fender Rhodes Keyboards. His playing defined the Doors Musical sound (Jim Morrison aside). In addition He produced and played with Echo and the Bunnyman and X to name a couple.
