Been a fan since I began the series in '95! Never read anything better. But don't actually know anybody who will read the series with me lol very frustrating. This site has so much going on. Any advice

hi there Seeker and welcome :)

You should be celebrating your 15th WoT anniversary! congratulations! *gives pie* :D

Yes, the site can be quite overwhelming at first and takes some getting used to. Luckily, there are quite a number of very helpful people around that are more than willing to explain things.

First thing to do on any board/forum is read the stickied threads. Those are usually the ones on top of each board you go to and they usually either explain what you will find in that board or give instructions as to the rules of that board. So this is always a good place to start your exploration of the forum. Just click on the boards that look interesting to you and start reading the stickied threads there. Some will be more elaborate than others, but don't worry, over time all of it will make perfect sense to you ;)

Dragonmount forum is divided in three parts:

  • general discussion boards : this is where the debate and discussion are held on the WOT books, the world in general and other stuff. This section of DM is regulated by the board moderators (which you can recognise because their name is under the board title)
  • Social Groups: these are, well, groups based on WoT Groups as you can see by the name. Here is where people are themselves and each group is centered around a specific topic. The Band, for instance, is centered around music while Wolfkin is centered around Nature. Feel free to check each of them out (again, read the stickies) and don't be afraid to participate on their boards if you like.
  • Roleplay Groups: this is where roleplaying occurs and where DMers 'act'. This is done in the form of creating a character (writing a biography) and then play-acting situations with that character together with other RPers. Feel free to check out those boards as well and don't be shy to ask lots of questions. They love them over there ;)

Hope this helps a little. :)

Myst

Hi Seeker

What can i say but welcome after Myst's awesome introduction to DM. I am a huge WoT fan too, and have no one IRL to share it with either, it's one of the massive attractions of DM.

Have fun checking out all the forums and yell out if you need a hand with anything.
