How to Download the Prologue from outside the US

Featured Replies

Amazon.com can be fooled into selling it to non-US customers:

1) Go to this page at Amazon.

2) Click on "Windows PC" or "Mac" as per your home computer.

3) Click the nice yellow "Download Now" button.

4) Twiddle your thumbs while it downloads. (If you don't already have an Amazon.com account, now is a good time to create one. Go to www.amazon.com and sign up for a new account. Give it your email address, credit card info, shipping address etc as required.)

5) Install the downloaded Kindle program.

6) Run it. Tell it your amazon.com account details. Hit the register button.

7) Follow this magic little link here.

8) On the right of the page it asks if you have moved recently and gives a link to the "Manage your kindle" page. Follow that link.

9) There's a ton of stuff on this page. 3rd from bottom is a heading saying "Your Country". It has a little link named "edit" out to the right from that. Click it.

10) Give yourself a USA address. It doesn't matter what it is, they don't do anything with it. I suggest searching google for a hotel address in a USA city of your choice. Make up a random phone number.

11) Follow this magic little link again here.

12) Buy it. FOR YOUR BILLING ADDRESS USE YOUR CORRECT CREDIT CARD ADDRESS, not your fake US address.

13) Amazon will confirm your purchase and provide a helpful "Go to Kindle for PC/Mac" button. Or you can start Kindle on your computer.

14) Tell it to download the book.

15) Read and enjoy.

Lambada figured this out.
