Hey everyone; obviously, I'm new here. Long time reader of WoT, long timer RPer, and even long time PbPer, but brand new to this board, though I've been lurking for a while.

Anyway, I'm posting because I have a character idea, and I wanted to make sure that it met approval before blustering forward full-force. Basically, the idea is an Aiel, a siswai'aman, who can channel and has joined the Black Tower. I have two ideas: either he was simply nearby when an Asha'man recruiting party was out and got detected, or he was a wilder who chose to dedicate himself to the Car'a'carn and join the Asha'man rather than making war against the Dark One in the Blight when he found out. Either way, I though I'd be clever and have him call himself "ashan'aman" ("Sword of the Dragon"). Obviously I'll fill in a full backstory, but I just wanted people's opinions as to whether this was a worthwhile character to pursue. My hesitation is mostly because "Aiel Asha'man" seems like a great way to start a Mary Sue character.

My advice would actually be to save this idea until you've got another character or two under your belt. It'll let you prove your skills to the admins as well as give you an idea as to how things work around the BT. As you said, a channeling Aiel does indeed sound like the basis for a Mary Sue character, which means it'll be fairly difficult to get any character approved, much less CC'd by another Div. Prove you can handle a more average character, and you'll most likely have a higher chance of getting a...riskier character approved.

Also, keep in mind that any Wilder character won't actually have any extra improvements to his ability to channel when compared to the rest of the non-Wilder channelers. So being a Wilder would only be a backstory thing. On the plus side, you'd get to think of something cool for a Block/Bar.

Also, I'm not an admin. Just a guy giving his opinion. *Frooshes away*

What he said... Aiel ARE possible, but have to be VERY well written. We do accept all kinds here but definitely listen to what was said above.

I definitely get that. That's why I brought this up in the first place. I'll start with another concept, then.

Other than the fact that an Aiel would probably implode if he called himself a Sword, there's not much wrong with the character idea. But like the others have said, the bio would need to be very well written and realistic. The Aiel are tolerant of the BT because they are the Car'a'carns allies, but they don't do much more than tolerate. Unless they need our gateways

Anyway, if you want to give it a whirl, there's no harm in submitting a bio. Just make sure all the details are in order.
