My husband is a HUGE WoT fan, and i am working my way through the books as well. As of right now i am on The Shadow Rising. I came here to actually ask a question that i dont think fits in any of the discussion forums on here (but ill do my best)

 

Christmas is coming up and a friend of mine, another WoT fan, suggested that i get my husband an Asha'man coat with the pins on the collar. The problem is is he said that i could use any oilskin duster but i am not far enough in the books to know if that would even work. Is there a specific coat that would work better? Or would a duster be perfect? I would ask my lady, but i havent been able to get ahold of him. Also we HAVE a duster that he has never really worn, its black and in perfect condition, if a duster would work, do you think it would be alright to just use the one we have and give him the pins to put on it? Any help? I want to make this christmas special, last year i got him a first edition, signed by Robert Jordan. It made him tear up a little and i want to do something almost just as nice this year. Thank you for any tips ^-^

I always envisioned the coat as more of a black Navy Pea Coat personally. The one you have is good enough as well, especially if you put a Dragon and Sword pin on it.

yea i saw some of those and wondered if they were more right for the part. however if all else fails i can get him the pins, put them on the coat and if he doesnt like it, ill tell him that i was waiting until we could afford a better coat. because honestly it is a bit about our money situation, although my friend did say a duster would work..im not sure haha thats why i asked you guys.
