The Prestige

And yet you managed to miss that David Bowie is in it. You should be ashamed of yourself. Go stand in the corner!

And of course the always lovely Scarlett deserves a mention as well:P

OOO I have heard great things about this movie. I like the presentation but Maj is right, a Scarlett mention would have been keen.

Tsk tsk, most gals I know would happily toss heterosexuality out the window for some playtime with Scarlett :D

I know I would.

I actually just saw a new trailer for this and I am even more excited.

Did Kat say penis on DM boards.... tsk tsk...

I'm with Kat.

A: Scarlett was never in "Little Women"

B: Scarlett couldn't pull off the wild-animal facial hair.

That's just how the cookie crumbles.

oh. And she doesn't have a penis.

OH what is with all the Scarlett hating! She is a very talented actress. Little women had Wynonna Ryder and therefore lost all votes for talented acting.

I thought we had to refer to it as peepee or some other silly name.

The mere fact that you call it pee pee tells me you aren't ready to have one.

We're not hating on Scarlett either. We just don't care. I've always been indifferent to her and her goggle eyed charms. Now, Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman in puffy shirts? That's sexy.

what Kat said.

*blinks*

Kat, did you just mention sexy and puffy shirts in the same context?

Sheesh, you are one crazy lady.

Any shirt rips easily if you just get some muscles

Errr... Maj are you trying to state your case for us meer (mear, mere?) mortals of men or those fancy nancy super studs?

What I meant to say is that I tear puffy shirts daily!!!

Well, think this bloke is wearing puffy shirts?

So who was the villian here? Was it Borden, who lived a double life that fooled everyone and drove his wife to suicide? Or was it Angiers, who's singleminded pursuit of vengence drove him to destroy another man's work, murder his own clone every night, frame an innocent man for murder and steal his child?

Angiers somehow comes off as the more sympathetic character during the movie, but objectively speaking, Borden(s) was less evil.

I think they were all villans. Except maybe Michael Caine and the little girl.

Basically Angiers was commiting suicide every night though... The clone is the one who appeared on the balcony....

Either suicide, or murdering his clone. Depends on your point of view.

How about Tesla's device? I've seen coments that call it extremely jarring, completely out of place in the film. I think that's sort of the point. It's a device that simply doesn't belong in the world, which is why Tesla warns Angiers about building it.

I really enjoy how he committed suicide each night, again choosing drowing (note how he tried to drown himself right after his wife died in the sink).

Yes, they were both Villians, but who were you pulling for to win? That is what great about the movie. There is no one character you should root for.
