Question concerning the Forsaken

Featured Replies

It is said that many of the Forsaken's names were given to them by the common people, and then they embraced these new names and used them exclusively. A couple of examples are Ishamael (Betrayer of Hope) and Lanfear (Daughter of Night), but the OT translations of most of the rest of the names are not present that I can find. They are absent from the BWB. Here's the list I have been able to find or figure out, and any help or references would be appreciated.

Ishamael - Betrayer of Hope

Sammael - Destroyer of Hope

Rahvin - ?

Be'lal - Envious - or so says http://wot.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_Old_Tongue_words but it seems this should be 2 words because of the apostrophe that breaks it into 'Be' and 'lal'

Demandred - ?

Asmodean - ?

Aginor - 'nor' means 'cutter or slicer', but I can't find a translation of 'Agi" anywhere

Balthamel - ?

Lanfear - Daughter of Night

Moghedien - A specific species of spider

Graendal - ?

Mesaana - ?

Semrihage - ?

That's as far as I've been able to take it, but I've been curious about it for a while now.

Any thoughts?

Graendal - "Telemarketer"

Mesaana - "Hyperactive incontient poodle"
