Hi everyone,

I'm new here (obviously). A little about my WOT background, I began reading WOT in the mid-90's, got thru the first 3 books (EoTW, TGH, TDR) and then stopped (life happens). I then read the entires series (up to CoT at the time) a few years ago, and of course, have read the latest two books (TGS and ToM). Had no idea about this website until recently, so here I am. Looking forward to satisfying my WOT fix, and meeting other fans in this forum. Thanks to the people who made/make this happen.

The he thing that made me really enjoy Peter Jackson’s LOTR was that despite the departures from the books the story was told in the same tone as the novels and so it still felt like LOTR Same went for Game of Thrones, the books had a darker tone and thus so did the show so it felt like the same world and the same story. WOT by contrast just does not have the same tone as the books. It feels like they are trying to tell the story of WOT in the tone of GOT and it just feels off
