In response to me pinging Red though, I understand that I always ping you, but how is a recapping post saying who was currently pinging ME useless and adding nothing? I feel like you just skimmed over it and labeled is as drivel. I called Kathleen out for being overly cautious, and not adding anything, Krak for posting Narnia related but he hasn't really said a lot either, I agreed with Aemon though I questioned his intentions, and I agreed with Aust's post.

 

i didn't skim your post AJ, i was only pointing out my gut reaction to your re-cap. as i said, to me, it had the feel of attemting to help without really helping because imo you were just repeating stuff that was already said. it didn't ping me hard, but it was worth noting atm and still is imo.

 

 

 

Agreed on Aemon. I'm thinking that he's serious in trying out some of Mynd's ways early on. What Aemon doesn't know is that it took Mynd about a dozen game of playing like that to figure out how to actually not get lynched outright on Day 1 or 2. It still happens to even him, and he's the master at setting fire to the grass to startle the snakes, lol.

 

In other words, Aemon is trying to impersonate Mynd here. And succeeding in how Mynd started off.....but doesn't realize Mynd failed a lot before he got the knack down.

 

Here's the kicker: if Aemon is town, are his antics going to help or hinder?

 

good point, i can see Mynds style in his actions now tat someone brought it up. imo, while Mynds style beats the grass its too easy for scum to manipulate it for their benefit; especially if he's just practicing it.

I'd like to know why it's always the actives that get "pressure" put on them. Limi, as I am really the only person trying to create game related conversation, your comments of "putting pressure" on me if I don't comment seem like the classic scum move Of putting someone in a position where if they respond you can call them overdefensive and if they don't respond you can call them too nonchalant and both ways you get to call them scum. You just shot way up on my radar.

 

Seems good on the surface, but looking at in a re read I see turning the tables on the accuser while deflecting the hit to yourself, and then you putting Limi in the same position you say she's putting you in. I do see it as overly defensive like she did, but I see it as a well played strategy that I missed until my reread. I actually felt bad for you when I first read this.

Okay, time to be serious. This does not sound like a bus driver to me. From what I know of bus drivers - and please someone more knowledgeable than me chime in! (I hate using public transit lol) - bus drivers swap targets? This role sounds too much - people could not affected by night actions and so they can't be killed, viewed, recruited, seduced.. (it IS the night after all!). And I will say that the only time I ever see someone claim to be a bus driver is when they are scum using a fake-claim :p

 

actually, the claim sounds more like a Commuter, you're correct on what a Bus Driver does. with a commuter, they can escape from any NA for the night, sometimes Mods just limit them to the NK. i've also seen and used a twaeked verson of this role where the Commuter could target himself or someone else and Commute them away from the night. i used this tweaked verson in my HP game.

 

also, i've seen the Commuter role used on a scum team as well as with the Town. its typically more of a townie role, but a safe role claim for a scum to make as well.

 

 

Moreover, Aemon this is absurd. If you had such an important role, why all the histrionics on DAY 1 when - as history tells us, this type of behaviour typically sees you lynched or at the very least placed in a great deal of danger? I can't see you doing that as town because it would be completely irresponsible. It doesn't fit, and it doesn't feel right.

 

i wouldn't call it absurb, but i agree basically a healer role and would be useful to the town. but i've seen Cops act almost as scummy as him as a technique *looks at Verb*

the joke wasn't improper, it was more of the timing of the vote honestly, as well as using the joke as a reason when there was plenty of info to use for placing a vote on him. if he flipps town, this makes you look like your scum trying to quicken the lynch, and the joke bit instead of remarking on the situation at hand (especially since you voted for the person people were FOSing most) made it lok liek you weren't paying attention.

lol I didn't say it wasn't a team effort, but I was a tad bit nervous at the end and started to doubt myself. I have had really good scumdar the past couple games. I knew two out of teh three mafia right off the bat in the Narnia game, so I'm just happy is all.

And this is what I get when I sleep during the day: I miss out on all the fun... *sigh* Good job on getting scum though! I meant to go back but never got the chance because of naptime, so I fail in that respect, but I appreciate that others were able to see through his lies.

I'm sorry, I got the names mixed up and will admit my wrong on that. But I HAVE seen the role used, I had it in one of Talya's games at the BT, and view it as very neutral. So, in short, I messed up the name, but still knew what I was talking about!

Why do you think that Verb? If it is a mafia ploy to NK one of their own to make the two people he mentioned a set up for day two, I think that would be sacrificing too much of the mafia too soon in the game. I mean, they just lost one to a day one lynch, and now your thinking they would set up a NK to take out another one of them on Night One? I can see how that may be a smart move for them when there are fewer people, but at this point I would think loosing two Mafia on the first day would not be a smart move on their part, even if it may turn the attention onto two innocents.

aww ok, thanks for clearing that up, I did misunderstand. And the post did seem over dramatic to me. Yes he hammered and that is a place can be a little nerve-wracking, but it seems over done/over dramatic in the post. There were enough other people on the lynch to look at than just the hammer.

exactly, i'm glad someone else noticed this as well. honestly, out of everyone one on the Aemon lynch to be more of a target, i would think it woudl be Song if she's town aligned. Song was basically the one to start pushing on Aemon hard if you noticed and it was after her that the votes really started to pile on him. just because Aust was the hammer on him doesn't make him any more of a target than the rest of us on his lynch.

 

the bit about being nervous kinda contradicts his vote post where he gave off the idea that he was certain of Aemon being scum. also, you point of scum being on Aemons lynch is a good idea; having one of his own to hammer him is a good move. but there are probably scum who didn't jump on his lynch as well; scum generally like to spread out their votes to avoid being clumped together, whch is why kraks vote on my was very suspicous imo.

 

to me, it's sounding like Aust is trying to draw either the finder or healer, with all his "yeah i'm a target now & these two are guilty if im NKd". if this is the case, and he is scum; i'd be concerned that he might be a suicide bomber or a tracker or a watching looking at him or something. its the only reason i can think of why a scum would pull such direct attention onto himself like that.

on a second look, the underlined portion hints at some type of paranoid role ... maybe like a paranoid army vet, where he kills whoever targets him; which is basiclaly a wild card for the town imo, as it could easily cost us our finder or healer or other power roles. it might be an empty threat to try and detract away from the NK and scare of the scum since he thinks hes a target also.

 

 

the other part "if something goes horribly wrong and i don't survive" also sticks out to me. thers a role called an elite body guard, they protect 1 person each night and kill the first person to target them. its a town aligned role though ... but again, if he kills indiscriminately ... well the cost to us could be greater than keeping him around. just food for thought and my 2 cents on the issue.
