Iz a couple of fantasy series by David Eddings. Twinneh and I just found out we haz un common love for them and we were reminiscing by shpamming Belgariad and Mallorean quotes

It was a bit ostentatious, but sometimes thing like that impress people. Garion reached down and scratched the wolf's ears.
