By the way, I still need to read Terry Pratchett. I think I will start after I read plus discussed about AMoL.

You know what? My eyes hurt so I tried my glasses. And now they don´t hurt. Amazing. (Haven´t used them for seven years.)

I wear my glasses every day.

Everyday I'm shuffling....

Sorry, Google translate doesn't know that word, and my normal translation machine doesn't work. Or did you spell incorrectly?

did you feel the earthquake? it was my first. i wasn't anywhere near it but the building shook. i do not like for the earth to move, i don't care what carol king says.

An earthquake. Where?

PS I didn't feel it. I'm safe in the Netherlands, one of the geological most inactive countries of the world.

it was centered in virginia, hundreds of miles away from me, but the building i work in shook. they felt it in canada, and all over the east coast. they evacuated buildings in washington DC and NYC. i do not like earthquakes.

it's not usually very geologically active around here, either. but we are sitting on a fault, so it can happen. and it just did. *shudder*

yeah, thanks, i'm fine, just not used to that kind of thing. it's just freaky. and a little concerned about the power plants, but the closest one is around 90 miles away, so as long as the wind... um, crap, there's a hurricane coming from the southeast.

this is not a good week.

i'm going home. seeyas. hopefully.

they say 5.9, but the estimates keep changing. it's a long fault. it's concerning because it's not so far from other much worse faults.

ok, really gone. later.

Where do you live? I mean, if you're somewhere near Chicago, for example, a hurricane will not be this worse anymore.

I felt it here in Jersey, my chair started rocking and I thought I was just getting a dizzy spell or something. Then everyone on the whole floor started coming out of their offices asking if everyone else felt that!

I have never felt an earthquake. Was it scary? My sister lived outside San Fransisco for a year and she got used to earthquakes although most was only small ones.

Yeah, It wasn't bad here, we just had tremors. It almost felt like a train going by while you're standing on the platform.

I'm sure it was worse closer to Washington and Richmond

i think our reaction to earthquakes is like california's reaction to snow.

that said, i'm ready to ditch this planet on the first outbound ship. these things bode ill for the immediate future.

I actually didn't feel anything in MA. But then again we can't feel the train that goes by or the manhole explosion, so maybe our building is just super duty.

Yes, a manhole exploded in our parking lot behind the other building in our office park, so not far away. We had no power for 4 hours, but did not feel the "explosion". - this was about 3 weeks ago.

Indeed. Pratchett is the spammer's author. Him and Douglas Adams are actually quiet similar.
