Is that solidarity in polish with a little polish flag chucked in?

Yeah.

It is a logo of trade union "Solidarity" which was formed in 1980 to fight for workers' rights against communist system (something unthinkable at the time, because commnist government was, by definition, the government of workers and for the workers). It became much more than the trade union, being also a national movement for independence and human rights, truth in history and science, religious and political freedoms etc. It had 10 mln members in the country of around 38 mln. Its existence and success was the first and probably most crucial movement in liberating central and eastern Europe from Soviet rule. Only after that things like fall of Berlin Wall etc. could have happened.
