that can be a real blessing. it's usually something memorable about the events that causes me to remember them. but sometimes it's just particular days, and interactions, and happy stuff, days at the beach, days along the canals in key west, the time the apartment was broken into by the guy with the butcher knife... that led to moving back in with gramma. but we scared him more than he scared up. time i cut myself on the sharp knife, bled like crazy. time they threw my bunny in the incinerator. times i played weith the icey parts of the fridge just to see if my fingers would stick... um, sorry, there's a lot of data in there, can't shake it out or prioritize it. bonus, you get to feel bad forever for every stupid thing you did since as long back as you can remember, so yay.

you can take the cutting one, i did once. the police dog that mrs ortiz was supposed to be watching but let jump out a high window. the dogs mom said went to the happy hunting ground. the day mr adler died and we had to clean his room, he died in the room, told me he swallowed his tongue, but i think that was not the primary cause of death, and then had to sleep in that room for the next 3 years, which made me anxious enough to vomit every night.

sigh.

memories... why so many songs about these awful things.

Wow, you had an eventful childhood...

Now I have "Miiidniiiight, not a sound from the paaavemeeeeent, has the moon lost her meeem'ry, she is smiling aloooone..." in my head.

I definitely remember some things. Like, once, a bat got into our house, during the day, and it freaked my mom out, but while it was flying around in confusion, I was dancing with it. That was fun. >.>

i remember many rodents, and many roaches, and when i was about 13, a new form of roach, palmetto buy they called in, packed in someone's stuff who must have visited the south. 2 - 3 inches long. i had to approach and see what this monster was... it looked like a giant roach. i came nearer... it took off with wings buzzing as loud as a tiny lawnmower, and flew right for me.

up to then you only had to worry about roaches in any open food or beverage or anything like that. now...

um, not nice stories, sorry. must walk dowwn a different trail.

i empathize. i can tell you from the other side that it is limited, and that some day, sooner than you think, it is the past, and the future is better. or at least in your hands a bit more.

sarcasm? i can't tell without the sarcasm font. didn;t mean to be trite, sorry. just how it looks from this end. took a while to look this way, i'll grant you.

i wasnt being sarcastic that statement i truly meant sorry if i offended you

Smileys also work.

I'm so happy.

Or:

You're totally right, and I'm wrong.

I dunno, I can imagine him using a sarcasm font from time to time. Just not very often.

But he IS a teenager, it happens.

And, yes, this is coming from personal experience.

Oh, I meant that I have personal experience with Eebs (Locke) using sarcasm. I was going through all my old PMs today, and we used to talk ALL THE TIME. Not even kidding. I didn't even have time to read all of the messages, though I will sometime. I don't think he was really ever sarcastic in the PMs, but I know if I go through our GTalk chat history, there'll be sarcasm in there somewhere.

And probably some of his posts on DM, too.
