Guess I didn't see all the off-thread celebration for the big event. Here, it was all llamacorn and naners and such. Not saying that doesn't convey any excitement (altho it is kinda confusing how it would), but since those same words can be found on just about any page in this thread, it was somewhat anti-climatic to see the same stuff there. I was expecting more of a new year's eve countdown kind of thing

Honestly? Following my Spurs throughout the playoffs mostly. Now that they're out I do find myself with a bit more time again...

Nope, I'm taking an extended leave of absence. No more mafia for a few months. Going to be following my Braves for a little while.

 

And sucks about your Spurs, I took them in my work pool to win it all. Lost $500. Boo.

That's too bad, I was actually tentatively considering a return to mafia. Either that or begging and groveling before Dwyn to see if she'll do something crazy like let me do the theory blog again

And yeah, my Spurs got screwed. The refs definitely helped the Thunder out a ton, but overall we stopped playing Spurs basketball. Suddenly had no depth, mucho turnovers, and pocito passing. Was painful to watch.

True, but I don't think anyone will be able to stop Durant this year. Even if LeBron can stop the Celtics, it won't matter. The West will be winning the title this year.

I agree, Durant is a beast. I like him a lot too, since he was a Longhorn in college, but it wasn't as much fun to see him going off against the Spurs. And yeah, the West will take care of business yet again. The Leastern conference gets all the hype, none of the glory.
