Awww, I like that! I only recognized maybe half the references in there, though. I'm not very schooled in Dr. Seuss stuff. XD

I'm really not either but you're like "Oh yeah that book!!!" for the ones you do know. And I'm sure it means more to older generations too who probably are more schooled in Suess :P

I miss Hop on Pop... Actually, a good third of what I did recognize came from the time when my high school put on the production "Seussical: The Musical," which is based on the story of Horton Hears a Who, with a whole cast of well-known Dr. Seuss characters, of course. It was a big hit with the kids in our community.

I should run this book by my parents, see how much they get.

I still fail to see what is more "noble" about spamming in this thread as opposed to spamming in either of my "Goal: #" threads o.O

I will say that I am somewhat impressed with how quickly this has been moving along, I kinda figured it would slow down a lot after 10k. Still, even tho it's a more "epic" goal in that it's bigger, both threads serve the same purpose: to consume spam. How is it more noble in this thread?

And btw, I'm not perturbed that you said that or anything AH, just trying to incite debate

Of course it will be (although it might be funny to see how many of us aren't even active in the BT anymore at that point), but still doesn't necessarily mean it's more noble, more genuine or anything.

All points already awarded for this thread>this is "free spam"> more noble.

So, spamming for the sake of spam = more noble than spamming for points? I thought one of the reasons the BT attracted so many spammers is that spam is rewarded here...

/shrug

Nobility is reflected in doing something selflessly. There is nothing wrong with spamming for points. The rules are clear that we are all free to do whatever it takes to grow stronger. Doing it for no points is more noble however.

I see your point, but I would disagree that those posting here are doing so "selflessly". This thread gives them a good place to converse while also contributing to a worthy cause, but it also encourages spamming, and spamming = points here at the BT. So it's def not pure selfless posting.

The only practical difference in either thread has to do with the fact that I have the potential to earn more points in the other one, whereas for everyone else the number of points they get for their posts is the same. So if anything, it can easily be argued that it's less noble to post in this thread, because by not spamming both threads you'd basically be purposefully attempting to deny someone else points
