Primary secondary and tertairy refers to how many carbons the carbon to which the halogen/hydroxide is bonded to.

 

Primary on the edges, secondary and tertiary in the middle

Aldehydes end in a C doubled bonded to an O connected to a Carbon chain and a hydrogen

 

ketones have the double bond to the O in the middle of the molecule
