I'm trying to buy books 1-9 1st edition, and I would prefer first printing.

 

How do you tell when the book was printed? If I can't get first printing, then I would like to get books 1-9 hard cover first edition. Not the book club smaller ones.

go to encyclopaedia-wot and look under Bibliography and Collectibles "A Section on collecting Robert Jordan books." Basically you're looking at the bottom of the copyright page. It should first say "First Edition:" and then the date and year it came out, then just below that you'll see a list of numbers. The first number from the left should be 0 and it should go "0 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1." That's about it.

Learned something new. I didn't think TEotW and TGH had original hard cover first printings. I remember my bookstore only had the trade paperbacks when they were first released.
