anyone besides me a college hoops nut? My favorite sport you can find on TV regularly.

Faves starting out probably looked like MSU, Duke, Kansas, Pitt, another random Big East team, and perhaps a "dark horse" akin to Butler. Right now, Ohio State, Duke, Pitt, UConn, Kansas (maybe), and probably Texas, with a possibility of San Diego State or BYU making a long run.

I'm a Texas fan, and I watched this season start with a healthy dose of skepticism after last year's wreck. This group is playing far better as a team now and they have a mental toughness that last year lacked. We lost three to the draft last year, and given that I thought we'd be in the tourney with a one and done type of trip like last year. Now, I'm thinking round of 16, maybe round of 8. Final four would require more free throw stability than we've shown most of the year, and a bit of growing up. Those kids are good but really young.

Seen Pitt and UConn play and I like them both. Ohio State, I don't really know what to make of. They have talent, but most of their schedule strength is back-end loaded if I recall right so they haven't played the most difficult part yet. SDSU is a complete unknown to me outside of reputation. Duke is tough, but not invincible and Kansas...eh. They lack a good point right now. I think that will cripple them come March. Worlds of talent though.

so...say OSU, Pitt, Duke and one other random team. Opinion open to revision as time goes on. :)

I haven't been to into college lately. I am a Duke fan though and I know they're doing well (#3?). And that arch nemises Carolina is floundering again this year.

well, Pitt turned around and lost to Notre Dame at home last night. Off night I suppose, but given how bad ND has been on the road I didn't see that coming.

Duke is good, yeah, as pretty much always. Not sure why NC hasn't been better. Not saying I thought they'd be in front of Duke, but I thought they'd be better than they are. Same with MSU, though Tom Izzo usually pulls them together as the year goes on. I'll believe MSU is dead when I see the corpse, metaphorically speaking.

I'm a Vanderbilt fan myself. We look to be pretty good this year although we are prone to letting big leads slip away. We're ranked #19 in the AP right now.

It's shaping up to be a Kentucky/Vandy race in the SEC for the conference title. Other than that, the rest of the SEC is loking pretty low this year. Perhaps Florida might make some trouble though.

Natioanlly, the usual cast of teams look to be good. UNC looks to be a dud this year after high expectations early. Georgetown is looking pretty good. They always come up in the polls every couple of years.

well let's see...pretty much everyone in the Top 10 either lost or had a scare; OSU, KU and Texas are the three who won two, with the first two having a "scare" game and Texas winning more or less comfortably, though their free throw shooting against Missouri was puke-worthy. We chalk this up to the "no dominant teams" thing this year?

Right now, I have OSU and UT as 1s (based on current play; I fully expect Texas to trip a time or two and drop back to two level before the end of the season)...and I don't know who the other two would be. Kansas, UConn, Pitt and Duke are the other four in the running and I don't know how you separate them.

Out of curiosity, anyone working on PS3 rosters for NCAA Basketball 10? I would love to get a new roster but that sort of thing is way out of my league.
