Spin Offs

Hey forum. I just wanted to express my opinion about the whole movie discussion. Impossible. There's no way WOT fans are going to let hollywood massacre this epic series by making it a film, and here's why. First, there's just too many books. If they started with Eye of the World now, by the time say Winter's Heart came around, the actors would have all aged dramatically and have to be changed to younger ones, and that would just confuse the Light out of all of us. Second, the discriptive power of Robert Jordan's writing skill. There's so many thoughts of characters that would be written out of a script because if every character had an inner monologue like they do in the books, the movie would be LAME. They smell things, they have preminissions that could not be expressed visualy through film, it would just get confusing.

I DO however have a proposition for the movie lovers and video game lovers alike. That's right, Spin Offs. Theyre could be an Age of Legends film, or a Trolloc Wars game, which would be EPIC and at the same time, not ruin the integrity of the series. They could do Lews Therin Tellamon's story in a film or video game. They could do "The Breaking of the World" and it would be amazing. But adapting the already existing works in the world of WOT would be insulting to it, and us, the fans.

So tell me what you think forum.

There is a whole forum devoted to these topics.

Generally, I will say I don't agree with your overall argument. A tremedous number of the tremendous number of words Jordan wrote were devoted to descriptions. When it comes to dresses, just to pick one frequently (and justifiably) mocked example, you wouldn't need to describe them all in loving detail. You could just film the result of your costumer's work.

Similarly, actresses with nicely rounded bosoms could be found and filmed, and further anatomical prose rendered unnecessary.

A picture, they say, is worth a thousand words. In the case of a WoT movie, a picture might by worth two thousand Jordan words.
