Please don't respond to the spambots

At least one person has had their account accidentally disabled this week because I saw a spam thread from the index and I went after the last person who posted before I looked at the thread. It's a pain in the butt for both of us if I do this. So if you see spam, ignore it. The mods are pretty quick about removing it.

And also don't respond if you see some moron respond to a spam thread because he doesn't know what it is. Your samurai like self discipline in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Ah, OK, sorry. I thought mockery was an appropriate response, but I can see now how it might makes things difficult for mods.

I think sarcasm might be lost on a spambot (at least I hope it is, or we're all in a lot of trouble)

Sure, but I've seen spam threads that would have been annoying turned into fun, free-form, open comment threads, on other forums.

And at least one where the thread was used to organize some vigilante justice for the spammers.

If one feels the need to do something, click the "report" button at the bottom-left of the post.

This is not one of those forums.
