Tons of new faces! And an old one! You are all welcome. I must warn those of you who are new that this is going to be a very long (I think possibly two months), complicated game and you will be expected to be relatively active (you will probably be ok with one game related post per day) so it is not for the faint of heart. Short (on the order of days) announced LOAs are ok, but unannounced or prolonged inactivity will not be tolerated. If you don't think you will be able to commit to this game, please back out before it starts. Otherwise, have fun! I won't turn away new players who are committed to playing and learning.

 

The mafiascum.net wiki is a great resource on roles and common strategies so spend some time looking at that. I would also like to direct you to DM's Organized Games board (it is a child board of General Discussion) where we play mafia regularly and have a sticky with some info. I will also be offering help to those who ask for it in game. Finally, if you aren't in the social group, consider signing up. Shayol Ghul is a fun place to kick back and let your evil show.

Oh, and you cannot choose whether you are evil or good in game, but if your heart is truly twisted, I recommend you sign up for the social group in the new members thread.

I'm in for Mafia WOT style. Its been a while since I played, but I bet its like riding a bike. A bike that keeps killing me on the first day, but a bike none the less.

I have seen new players in their first games ever COMPLETELY obliterate the veterans (cough LAZY @ MyndJack) in even the most mind-bendingly epic mafia games. I will NOT be sugar-coating my tactics for these so-called "fresh meat" peoples. New to Shayol Ghul they may be, but they have the stench of the Old Ways about them.......I will be watching them carefully!

... yeesh. Question the first: when would the game be starting? Question number B: would a 10-day disappearance be considered too long if the game started before, oh, March 12?

I am hoping the game will start before then. Ten days is really pushing it but I don't want to say no to you. I think I can find a way to work around your absence.

Hey killuliu!! You don't have to be a member of Shayol Ghul to play this game, though you get to stab people so why wouldn't you want to join? Also you can join as many social groups as you want. I am a memer of the White Tower, Black Tower, Shayol Ghul, and the Aiel. They all give you something different, so feel free to join as many as you'd like!

I heard about this game from MyndJack Radio, which airs Tuesdays and Thursdays on the All Digital Radio Network (9pm EST). Or wait, was it The G-Spot Radio with Talya Frost which airs Saturdays and Sundays at 1pm EST on the same network? I forget. Either way, I'm sure it was one of those times.... or it could have been one of the podcasts in their archives.......dunno.

 

Or it could have been an email from Wwwwwwombat. Anyhooo......I'm ready to scumhunt!

I would like to point out that just because I'm evil, it doesn't mean that I'm the bad guy in game.

Of course that was a sign up! Verbal knows very well the consequences for posting in a sign up thread without actually saying he is signing up. Why it would be quite SCUMMY of him to bait such a question.....unless he was waiting to see who else would sign up and therefore let that determine if his post was indeed said signing up and so forth.
