From what I remember, the last time we saw Loial was when he was leaving for the Great Stump. I completely forget the details of this or when it happened so a refresher with more details would be much appreciated.

I'm very interested to see what role Loial and the rest of the Ogier will play in aMoL and the Last Battle. Speculation?

I think it was after the battle at Lord Algiron's (sp and not 100% about if it IS him) mannor house in Tear, not sure which book, iicr it's Path of Daggers. I believe that is when Rand gives Loial the task of convincing the Ogier of guarding/keeping an eye on the Waygates, it's also where Elder Hadnan(sp) gibes Rand a map of all the known Stedding, used and abandoned.

My guess would be that Loial would convince them to stay up through Tarmon Gaidon; maybe even to help with the rebuilding process.

Maybe he would be around long enough to finish his book about the 3 taveren.
