Hello everyone and my name is Rand. I was born in '94 and can you guess where my name came from? That's right, my mother and father were huge fans of the wheel of time books so they of course named me after the man who would go mad. So now I decided I'd read about... me. I started the series about 2 weeks ago and I'm now on the 5th book. The series is absolutely gripping. I'll admit there's a few slow parts, but I can put those out of my mind for the exciting adventures I get to read. My father owns the series up to book 12 (1 and 2 in paperback, 3-12 in hardback) so I have plenty to read :D

 

3/4 of the way through the book (I think while they were passing through the ways or in Caemlyn) my mom asked me how I was liking the book I just threw up my hands and said "It's fantastic!" If only literature class could be this good....

Welcome to DM Rand! I've heard of people being named Rand before but never actually met anyone who actually had it as their name *checks it off bucket list lol*

 

Anyways, I'm Jea, second in command of the Band of the Red Hand social Org and one of the sitter for the Brown Ajah in the White Tower social org...both are great places to stop by! The Band has all kinds of music like stuff while the Browns love any and all discussions (and i believe there's a name thread in there...I wonder what your name would bring up...)

 

Also, I love to give people these *hands him a plate of her extra special chocolate fudge brownies* Please do enjoy! And, I just realized, you were born the same year as my younger sister...which makes you about the same age I was when I joined DM in 2004...gah I'm old

How cool to be named after the Lord Dragon! And I guess it's a good thing you didn't read the first half of the first book and throw it across the room in disgust :)

i have a feeling there will be more kids out there like that, been onto the topic myself but we never found any names in there we agree on both liking, i met my fiance here on DM so yes we are both fans of the series, and i am sure our kids will be fed stories about it too

 

and i know there are quite a few other couples who found eachother through wheel of time and the wheel of time communities

 

i recommend peeking into the RP as well, it may be on the botom of the page, but its what got me started in dm to begin with, there are many good writers down there
