Lost Season 3 Discussion (SPOILERS)

Featured Replies

Hope I can join in on the Discussion. :D I am pretty disappointed with this season so far, but the last epi with Desmond was kinda cool. I just wish they'd move the plot fwd a bit. A lot more was happening in the first season. I hope it picks up more now that it's back on.

What I did find shocking was that not all the Others actually want to be there - a la the second-to-last epi with Juliet. Now I'm really curious as to why they're all there.

I think they are all working on the life extension project for the Hanso corporation.

what about Rousseau?

Ah! Yveva - you reminded me of a question in the back of my mind. Now, Alex (Rousseau's daughter) claims that Ben is her 'dad.' Could that really be true? Could he be Rousseau's 'husband'?? Maybe that's why she's survived this long and they tend to leave her alone? Or is this just a ruse to make Alex think she belongs with the Others??

Naw, I think Ben kidnapped her and raised her as his daughter. The real question is what is so important about the kid.

I think that Alex certainly takes after her mamma (both in looks and revolutionary activity). Last episode made it clear that she is not 100% fugitive though, and Ben certainly wants to be on her good side.

So, what do y'all think of last night's episode? It was after Empy's bedtime so he slept through half of it, I don't think he missed that much. See, it was important to learn what Jack's tattoo said, but really, was anyone surprised by it's meaning? I mean, I wouldn't have guessed that just randomly, but as soon as you know it's supposed to say who he really is, well... I also thought the backstory was pretty weak. Nice to know how he got it, but there was a lot of TV time spent on telling us a very small amount of information.

Also, there was red behind K/Carl and Sawyer, but neither of them died (that we know of, yet). And it looks like Lost's going the direction I wanted it to, alternating episodes of Jack/Sawyer/Kate and Island people. Do you think that Sawyer and Kate will find where the Others live? What about the revelation that Ethan had been the Others' surgeon?

The most interesting thing for me about last nite's epi, was the whole "petting zoo" thing. Cindy, the kids, and possibly others that have been kidnapped just walking around freely without any care to what was going on. Living the high-life with their 'backyards,' I'm sure. I hope in the next epi or the one after, we get to really see where the Others live. It's supposed to be a fantastic place, apparently. Which calls into question why they would leave the rest of the Losties out on the beach to die. What separates the kidnapped from the non-kidnapped? And what right do the Others have to discriminate?

Did Sayid ever make it all the way around the island in season 1?? If so, why didn't he come across the Others' living space?? I didn't think the island was so big that no one would have noticed an enclave that big already...

No, he only got as far as that crazy Frog woman, didnt he? Damn, I really want to participate in this thread, but we are only up to the second episode of series 3 here!!!

I still think there should be more Aussies on the plane though. The producers droppped the ball big time..... I could keep Kate safe hehehehehehehe

Well, the flight was from Aus to Los Angeles, so it's not UNlikely that there was a greater number of Americans returning home than there were Aussies traveling away... But I agree that there should be more on the show, just so I can hear that lovely accent. 8)

Of course, but I count 2 Aussies only, that pregnant Claire chcick, and the air hostess that was with Analucia and Echos group. There should have at least been a minimum of 20% Aussies on that flight!!!

Thats where the show loses all credibility for me!!!

lol, Oz! And I love your siggy.

But - wait, arent we assuming that the island the Others call home is the same island the Losties are on? That may not be true. There could be more islands... How many damned islands are there, anyway???? :?

At one point in the latest ep they state that they live on the same island. At least, that's how I understood it! They definitely don't live on the island where they're keeping Jack.

And Oz, maybe those 20% were all killed... Or the Losties that never talk, lol.

well, in the opening episode of the third season didn't Ben send the two guys off on foot to infiltrate the survivors? They could have gotten on a boat, but I assumed they were all on the same island.

I agree, there should have been more Aussies. Aussies travel more than people from the US, therefore there ought to have been more of them on the plane. *nodnod*

Yes, we are GREAT travllers. Wherever there is people, you should be able to hear an Aussie vomiting under a palm tree!!!

We would have brokered a peace deal between the Losties and the Others over a Polar bear bbq, started up a pub near the dock, and get Desmond to work behind the bar!

Maybe that's how the Others chose people! They just quick grabbed all the Aussies to join the BBQ on their side of the island!

Umm, I think they would have been found by now.

I think in the end they find the bones of Gilligan and the rest of the crew.

or a whole closet of ginger's wigs.

I reckon they'll hook up with Swiss Family Robinson and Robison Crusoe and spend Seasons 4-15 building a city on the Island entirely from Papaya.

And where has the other lost thread gone? ;)

that would be awesome!

I'm looking forward to when they get to the door in the sky and realize this is all just like the Truman Show.

Anyway, I know I'm a week or so late but yesterday I watched the Desmond Episode. I loved it. It was so much more exciting and fast paced than anything so far this series. I thought what we found out about Charlie was really good too. ^^

And you may laugh Charis, but you know I'm right ;)
