How far into AMOL is brandon?

Featured Replies

How far done with AMOL is brandon? Is he completed with it but just going over the book again and editing everything or does he still have major sections of the book to write? Has he gotten the major sections out of the way and is filling in all the subplots? It'd be nice to know how far along the book is

Apparently Brandon's website is seriously screwed up at the moment. They're sorting it and then he'll publish a big update on what's going on.

He's certainly not finished it. If he had, AMoL would be out before the end of the year rather than in early 2012. If I had to hazard a guess I'd say he was less than halfway through, based on his progress on the last two books.

I might go and meet him for his UK booksigning in early June. If I do, I'll ask :)

Per Brandon via twitter a day or two ago he has finished about 5%. So he's not far along at all. He's also still re-reading the series while writing at the same time. The percentage doesn't include any of the sections that RJ had completed. I don't think he includes that in the progress bar until he gets to those sections while he's writing and incorporates it into his draft. It's looking like November 2012 is probably more likely than March 2012.

I feel weird saying this, but I hope you are right on that

He said via twitter a few days ago that he has written the "somewhere a wind rose" scene at the beginning. So, if absolutely nothing else, at least he has that.
