Oh, I see what you mean. That's right, we haven't seen the TP used in a primary mode that is constructive.. but then we haven't seen it much at all compared to the use of the OP.

Ishamael Healed Lews Therin with the True Power, TEOTW Prologue.

As far as I know, the only "evil" aspect of the True Power is its apparent weakening effect on creation when channeled.

That's the opposite to Rand's situation with Semi, isn't it! He destroys to free himself; Ishy Heals to torment LTT.

Sure, but I'd differentiate between channeler motivations and the actual weave.

The Healing weave itself was not really destructive, at least as far as we know.

But it was also very, very painful. It seems it wasn't so because of Ishamael's design (he even mused that it was a pity none of the Aes Sedai sisters were there), but because of the nature of the TP. It hurts even when it heals.

Not so sure about the True Power being the essence of the Dark One since the Dark One seems much more powerful than the True Power.

If the True Power was the essence of the Dark One, its users could probably potentially do everything that the Dark One could do.

If anything could be the essence of the Dark One, the miasma might be more likely than the True Power.

From reading Encyclopaedia's Towers of Midnight pages, it seems Rand has gained some powers from his Dragonmount experience. Maybe those powers came from the Creator.

Those powers might be used during Tarmon Gaidon.

(I do not think this is gospel but...)

TP - Dark one's essence/granted power

One Power - The Wheels power

Unknown/Creator power - Creators essence/granted power

This sets up two sides and a neutral for power usage and harmony. This seems to make sense since the WOT world is supposed to only have the OP in it, originally. Then the DO and the TP is introduced, disturbing the balance. Now Rand has the CP (creator power) to buffer that imbalance. Now I don't think that the CP makes Rand a god or anything (just like Moridin is not the Dark One). It is introduced to create balance in the WOT world and eventually drive it back to only the OP being present after the Last Battle. I think Rand glowing in Maradon draws a contrast to Darth Rand or when he was connected to the TP and radiated darkness.
